Job Description:
Clinical Nurse Specialist
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing from an accredited School of Nursing & Specialty Certification or MSN require
Current licensure by the State of Maryland
Minimum three years experience relevant clinical experience, including age specific patient population
Knowledge of nursing practice and patient care in terms of theories and practices to serve as the resource or educator to other practitioners in their area of expertise/patient population
Demonstrated knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span of patients served
Possess advanced analytical skills to assess data reflective of the patient’s status and interpret the appropriate information needed to identify each patient’s requirements
Ability to make decisions that are varied in and many cases solutions must be developed
Responsibilities:
· Improve the quality of patient care and nursing practice by serving as clinician, educator, researcher, educator and interdisciplinary collaborator in the area of expertise and identified patient population
· Provide professional nursing care to patients/families in need of specialized care
· Identify need, plans, and implements and evaluates educational intervention within the specialty for patients, staff and community
· Establish, review, and revise practice standards and act as a resource and facilitator for implementation of clinical practice standards
· Serve as a consultant to other health care professionals in area of expertise
· Create an atmosphere of service excellence; demonstrate advocacy towards customers
· Promote and enhance nursing practice to fulfill the organization’s mission and goals
